FIT INDIA MOVEMENT

Fit India Movement, launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Kick started in Greenfields to accomplish the aim of developing sports quotient among all the students so that a healthy life style could be achieved. The movement endeavours to alter the behavior from passive screen time to active field time.

 

Day1- On 18th November, 2019, class V students and teachers practiced Yoga during the morning assembly on the theme ‘Yoga for all’. Different yoga postures like Padmasana, Trikonaasana and Vrikshaasana were practiced. The students practiced meditation at the end of the physical activity to calm the mind.

       
 

Day 2- On 19th November, 2019, students of class IX had free hands on various physical exercises. Prior to the physical activity, the students were addressed by Ms. Garima- Students’ Counsellor/ Psychologist on mental health and well-being. Students too shared their views on mental health and enlightened their fellow friends on what mental health means and its significance.

Poster making competition was organized for the students on 21st November, 2019 on the theme ‘Fit body- Fit Mind- Fit environment’. The enthusiastic participants beautifully expressed their thoughts in the form of posters and showcased their artistic skills.

       
 

QUIZ COMPETITION

To mark the fitness week celebrations, a SPORTS QUIZ was organized by GPS for the students of middle department on 22nd November, 2019 in the morning assembly. Rules and regulations were explained to the students. The quiz was conducted in two rounds. The event saw the students full of enthusiasm and eager to answer. It was an entertaining, informative and enlightening quiz for the students and teachers.
