To mark the importance of friends and friendship in life, Greenfields Public School celebrated International Friendship Day on 30th July 2019 via Virtual Platform. The event was graced by the esteemed International Guests, Ms Coroina Sujdea from Romania; Mr Kolapo Emmanuel- Nigeria; Mr Naeem Khan- Pakistan; Mr Ferit Yelis- Turkey, Mr Neelam and Mr Sumon Wajid - Bangladesh and Mrs Rasha Embaby, Mr Nasr Morgan, Mr Ahmed and Mrs Nareeman from Egypt. The celebrations began with the welcoming of the guests on behalf of Founder Principal- Dr. Manik Barsaley, Principal- Dr S.K Sharma and the entire management of the School. Ms Corina introduced the members in the panel who shared their deep affection, love and admiration on being a part of this momentous occasion. The guests were also given a warm welcome by our young Greenarians who presented a cultural bonanza comprising of a self-composed rap, a western dance, Instrumental Guitar on Shakira’s Waka Waka, Ramayan Bhajan, an English song and a resplendent Rajasthani Folk Dance. Thecultural extravaganza mesmerized every member who was a part of the priceless occasion. Further, Ms Corina shared with her PPT on her work with her students in Romania. The event culminated with the Address of Dr S.K Sharma- Principal and Founder Principal- Dr M Barsaley. They expressed their gratitude to all the guests for joining the celebration and for making the evening memorable and phenomenon.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

Independence Day was celebrated by Greenarians on 15th August with a lot of gusto and zest via virtual platform. The students of middle department staged a programme “Bharat Bhagya Vidhata” with a lot of patriotic fervor. A video was shared wherein a heartfelt tribute to corona warriors i.e. parents of students who were contributing to fight the pandemic was paid. The song presentation ‘Mile sur mera tumhara…. Stirred the patriotic chords of one and all. Students donned the look of freedom fighters and played the characters of Rani Lakshmi Bai, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawar Lal Nehru, Bhagat Sigh to name a few. Graffiti of Indian monuments was also shared with the students in their classes. The programme of the senior classes commenced with invocation of Goddess Saraswati followed by a musical rendition ‘Main rahoon ya na rahoon, Bharat ye rehna chahiye…. Which imbued everyone in patriotic zeal. A thought provoking insight was given by a Power Point Presentation into the quit India Movement and a skit was staged on the relevance of Independence Day which won the applaud by the attendees. The event culminated with the blessings of Principal- Dr S.K Sharma and Dr. (Ms.)Manik Barsaley- our revered Founder Principal cum Manager who lauded the efforts of the participants and urged the students to forever remain allegiant and steadfast in devotion to the country!

YOGA AT HOME, YOGA WITH FAMILY

Amid COVID-19 pandemic, the students and teachers of Greenfields Public School, Dilshad Garden celebrated International Yoga Day on the digital platform on 21st June 2020 with vigour and enthusiasm under the worthy guidance of Founder Principal Dr. (Ms.) Manik Barsaley. Before the celebrations, Founder Principal- Dr. (Ms.) Manik Barsaley addressed the students, extended her blessings and urged one and all to make Yoga a habit to remain physically fit and improve concentration.Following the theme “Yoga at Home & Yoga with Family” the students indulged in various activities like Slogan Writing, doing Pranayam and different Yoga Aasans with their family. The students were delighted to share their pictures and videos.The online session for teachers, which was joined in by the Principal- Dr. S.K Sharma commenced with warm-up exercises, breathing exercises followed by various Yoga Aasans. The teachers practised laughter yoga as well.While students were encouraged to adopt Yoga as a way of life, the teachers vowed to adopt practices for a happier and healthier lifestyle. It was an enriching experience for one and all.

NATIONAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATIONS

Our school celebrated National sports day on 29th August 2020 to honour the legendary hockey player Major Dhyanchand Singh and also to spread awareness on the importance of sports and physical fitness in everyone’s life. Our students made it evident that Sports not only play a vital role in improving our physical and mental health but also foster active citizenship and social inclusion. The event was graced by the valuable presence of the School Management. Our students presented various activities including declamation, speech, Physical fitness exercises like Burpies, pull ups, Traditional and emerging push ups, sit ups, dumbbell lifting etc. Children enchanted the audience with the Euphonious song presentation and thrilling dance performance on energetic and motivating lyrics. All the students were praised for their laudable efforts by the school management and the event culminated with the national anthem. It was indeed a day full of learning and new experiences for everyone.

WORLD POPULATION DAY

The World Population Day was observed on 11th June 2020 by the students and teachers of the school to raise awareness about the global population issues. The students vigorously participated in an array of activities including poem recitation, song presentation, a mime act, puppet show, raps, skit and a wide range of other activities. Children gripped the audience with their wit, talent, euphony and the usage of props, costume and makeup which amazed everyone. They were applauded by one and all for their admirable efforts, creativity and conveying the message loud and clear that, ‘Excess of everything is bad.’ The event culminated with the thought-provoking words and blessings by Hon’ble Founder Principal, Dr. (Mrs) Manik Barsaley and Hon’ble Principal Dr. S. K. Sharma.

FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATIONS

Congratulations Greenarians ! The school celebrated its 55th Foundation Day during the lockdown in a unique way. The momentous occasion was dedicated to the Nation and as a tribute to the Frontline workers who are striving hard to overcome the Covid -19 pandemic. We at Greenfields Public School ,Dilshad Garden strongly believe that together WE SHALL OVERCOME!! And, it was overwhelming to see students seeking pleasure in sharing their creativity and whole heartedly participating in various activities conveying powerful messages through the presentations, sketches, audios, videos, poems and singing songs. The Greenarians kept in their prayers the ailing persons to recuperate and endure the difficult times. All efforts to recognize the dedication of the Warriors and to spread positivity!! HINDI DIWAS CELEBRATIONS 2019

Hindi Diwas was celebrated in the school premises on 13th September, 2019 to inculcate love and reverence for the language among the students and to apprise them of the history behind the day’s celebrations. The Chief Guest for the occasion- Mr. Mukesh Garg, son of renowned poet Kaka Hathrasi and Associate Professor in University of Delhi was accorded a warm welcome by Dr. S.k Sharma- Principal. The chief guest along with the Principal and incharges lit the ceremonial lamp which was followed by Saraswati Vandana. Students hosted a very enthralling Talk Show wherein the famous Hindi Novelists and poets were interviewed. Through the Talk Show the audience were enlightened on the life and achievements of the famous personalities. A skit was also staged which was replete with humour and was enjoyed by all. The event saw the students’ participation in Poetry Recitation which was much admired by the audience as well as the Chief Guest. Mr. Mukesh’s words of appreciation left the participants

GRANDPARENTS LOVE LIKE NO ONE ELSE!

On the occasion of Grandparents day i.e. 13th September, 2020 the students of Primary Dept. expressed their gratitude and love towards them. Students were asked to do various activities to make this day special for their grandparents like preparing and serving breakfast to them, having lunch with them, offering prayers for them, playing indoor games with them and listening to bedtime stories from them. The students captured the memories of the special moments with their grandparents and shared them with their teachers.
