Sport is a precondition for the development of our young broods. The slogan ‘Khelega Bharat toh Khilega Bharat’  for Khelo India School Games, coined by our honourable  Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, reflects his gigantic and incredible vision for the holistic

development of children and youth which will contribute in the development of nation by encouraging sports all over the country.It was a moment of immense pride and honour that Greenfields Public School ,Dilshad Garden got an opportunity to  participate in the inaugural ceremony of Khelo India held in IG stadium on January 31,2018 in the presence of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi,Minister of Sports Shri Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and various other dignitaries from different disciplines of sports.

A group of three hundred Greenarians of class VI with warmth and exuberance exhibited a splendid show on the theme song of Khelo India , ‘Aur Khelna Chahte Hain Hum’.It was a heartfelt moment seeing our young talents representing the school on such a great platform. They toiled really hard, practiced day and night and sincerely followed the instructions of the choreographers and their teachers. The Founder Principal Dr. Manik Barsaley, the Principal Dr. S.K Sharma ,Vice Principals Mr. Vibhu Shrotiya & Mrs. Pooja Barsaley and Head Mistress Mrs. Purnima Upadhyay who witnessed the live performance, congratulated the participants and the escort teachers . It was indeed an unparalleled experience and stupendous fortune for our school to have got the exposure of this kind.

ATHLETIC MEET 2016-2017  

Greenfields Public School, Dilshad Garden (Middle Department) organised Athletic Meet 2016-17 on 18th November, 2016 to engage the students in energetic and stimulating sports activities.  Mr. Manoj Kumar Gautam, Sports Secretary of Zone VI, Directorate of Education was the special guest for the occasion. The event was declared open by Head Mistress, Mrs. Purnima Upadhyay. It was followed by the final races of relay, relay with baton and relay hurdle in both boys and girls categories.  Mr. Gautam bestowed the winners with medals. The winners in each category were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals.  Teachers also joined in the final sprint race encouraging the sports enthusiasts on the field which was a great fun.  The event culminated with the national anthem.






A Cricketer in the Making .........  

There is indeed no dearth of talent in children in the field of sports! We need to provide opportunities and much needed guidance to them for them to come up with flying colours.

Ankur Tewatia of Sr. Secondary Deptt did the school proud as he he was selected in the Dream Team of Rajasthan Royals. The team comprising of 15 members toured Austraila to play against different teams of eminent colleges.

A total of eight matches were played for which AnkurTewatia contributed immensely and the team won seven out eight matches.

He not only captained the team but also scored maximum runs during the tour and was honoured with 'Man of the series award.

Ankur got an opportunity to meet the premier and Deputy Premier of South Australia besides Michael Bevan, Tom cooper and Shaun Tait. The team enjoyed the post - game/ training Recovery and physiotherapy session with John Gloster, Physiotherapist, Rajasthan Royals.

It was a great moment for the team to meet Bret Lee, the famous cricketer of Australia and watch India v/s Pakistan match live at the Adelaid Oval.

Ankur was accorded a warm welcome in the school and his efforts were lauded by the director principal , officiating principal and the incharges.

12th July 2012 was a momentous day for sports lovers as they enjoyed the inauguration of Basket Ball and Lawn Tennis Courts. The synthetic Courts in bright orange and green colours added to the charm of the players . Our worthy Principal inaugrated the courts along with the Vice Principal and incharges. Sweets were distributed. While some with Vice principal enjoyed playing Lawn Tennis , others had their hands on Basket Ball. The students were excited and happy as they cheered and applauded for those in the Court.
