SWACHCH BHARTA PAKHWADA

GPS conducted a host of activities during the Swachh Bharat –Swachhta Pakhwada from 1st to 15th September,2018 following the guidelines of Directorate of Education.

 

At the outset, Mass Pledge was taken up during the assembly by the students and teachers. Messages, Slogans, Posters and Banners were displayed on the Gates, Play -ground, Assembly area, Canteen area and other suitable places inside the school.

 

The Pakhwada saw the students from classes VIII to XII throbbing with activities and competitions organized for them i.e. Essay Writing Competition, Debate, Poetry Recitation, Painting Competition etc.  Writing of Post cards to the Hon’ble Prime Minister reflected the passion of students and was the most arduous activity of the Swachhta Pakhwada in which they shared and ensured that cleanliness would be a way of life and they would forever remain committed to the cause.

 

Propelled with a lot of enthusiasm, Innumerable saplings were planted within the premise of the school by a team of Swachhta Monitors accompanied by Hon’ble Principal cum Manager Dr. (Mrs.) M. Barsaley, Principal- Dr. S. K. Sharma, Vice Principals, Incharges and Teachers.

 

Students took to the streets and roads raising slogans and meaningful placards in an awareness Rally and staged a Nukkad Natak to sensitize the people of Tahirpur Village. The students in the rally were led by our revered Principal- Dr. S. K Sharma, Incharges and Teachers to encourage people to follow the dictum of Swachhta.

 

Keeping in tandem with the spirit of the campaign, two Seminars were organized for the students of classes VIII-XII initially on ‘Swachh Water Day’ by Dr. Nidhi Gupta and Dr. Utsav Gupta followed by a discourse on ‘Hand Wash Day’ by a renowned Dietician- Ms. Rupali Sachin Anaspure of Litchi Foundation. Both the seminars focused on the awareness of water-borne diseases, to promote safe drinking water and proper methods of hand wash before eating besides, the techniques of water harvesting.

 

On the concluding day of the Pakhwada, an exhibition showcasing the students’ work was put up. The display of meaningful banners, messages, slogans, paintings and posters caught the attention of not only students and teachers but also inspired other staff members of the school to adopt cleanliness as a part of their life.
